Since 2008, Boston Buying Power has steadily increased the amount of renewable energy that it procures on behalf of the primary aggregation. In 2010, BBP acquired 10% green power for the main aggregation, while in 2011 that component was increased to 20%. Boston Buying Power was recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency as one of the primary aggregations procuring from renewable sources.
